Christopher Biggins hosts a special evening at the Grill on New York Street to raise funds for Manchester Pride.

Blackhouse's popular The Grill on New York Street in Manchester offers guests a special night of fine dining, hosted by Christopher Biggins, to raise funds for Manchester Pride. We've mentioned the restaurant's LGBT-friendly credentials before, and now Blackhouse owners Living Ventures team up with Manchester Pride to reaffirm that commitment in aid of the north's largest Pride.
The evening will include a drinks reception, live music and a full three-course meal for the set price of £50 per head.

Guests will be greeted with prosecco on arrival, with the tasty warm-baked loaf we recommended in our review of the restaurant earlier this year, and marinated olives in olive oil.

The first course includes a choice of Thai vegetable soup; honey, rosemary and lemon chicken skewers; beetroot-cured salmon salad with a horseradish cream; and beef carpaccio with a watercress and stilton salad for the traditionalists.

The mains include either a fillet steak with home-cut chips and a sauce of choice, hake coronation with bombay potatoes (a personal favourite), pan-roasted chicken breast in a macaroni and summer green broth (best served with the broth in a gravy jug) and ratatouille with aubergine and halloumi (suitable for vegetarians).

The dinner is rounded off with classic crème brûlée, sticky toffee pudding, ice cream coupe or a delightfully fun rhubarb fool.

This special event is just one of many planned for Manchester Pride Fringe, which includes a full programme throughout August. Manchester Pride has also just announced that Sam Sparro will be headlining the main stage this year.

This special event will take place on Thursday 1 August, from 19:00 at The Grill on New York Street, Manchester. You can book by calling 0161 238 9790 or alternatively online. The cost is £50 per head.
