The winners have been revealed in the north west's first-ever Food Porn Awards.

Earle by Simon Rimmer was named the overall champion of the inaugural search for the region's most visually-appealing cooking, with the Hale restaurant's seared scallop, pea puree, ham hock spring roll and pork cracking dish also topping the fine dining category.

Ramsbottom pub Hearth of the Ram was named the best boutique pub for its king Scottish scallops, crispy cured ham and apple, while Manchester's Grill on the Alley took home the casual dining prize for its tomahawk ribeye steak, and Cheadle bakery Princess and the Cupcake won the alternative eats category with its chocolate and salted caramel layer cake.

The winners were revealed at the Northern Restaurant and Bar show at Manchester Central this week after a cook-off between sixteen finalists earlier this year.

Their creations were captured on camera by Manchester food photography studio Shoot The Moon before being put to a judging panel of food writers, designers and stylists.

Oliver Zebedee-Howard, creative director at Shoot The Moon and one of the judges, said: "It's such an exciting time for the North West food industry; seeing all the incredible dishes oozing with creativity, has been amazing. The judging stage was great fun and the standards were exceptionally high.

"Huge congratulations to all the winners and thanks to everyone who took part."
