The team from the Blackhouse Grill, Newgate Street, in Chester have been training hard over the past couple of months in preparation for the 2011 Liverpool Half Marathon to raise funds for Help for Heroes. They will be joining 7,500 runners on Sunday 27th March to run the gruelling 13.1 miles which starts and finishes At Wapping Dock in Liverpool.
The Blackhouse Grill team include:- General Manager Alex Jarrett (aged 29) , Matthew Lewis (Aged 24), Sheena Marr (Aged 28), who have been scheduling their training programme around their restaurant shifts for the past three months and are determined to raise as much money as possible for Help for Heroes.
Alex Jarrett, General Manager for the Blackhouse Grill said "Not only has the training been great for staff team building and morale, but raising money for a charity such as Help for Heroes is a great motivation to get running. It is the least we can do to thank those who have served their country. We have wanted to support Help for Heroes ever since we saw a local barracks come home from Afghanistan."
Sheena Marr, PA at the Blackhouse Grill said "I have a brother in the Navy and I have massive respect for our Armed Forces, raising money for those who give so much for our country will be all the motivation we need to complete the course"
The team, who are being supported by friends, family and diners at the Blackhouse Grill have set up charity website for donations on www.bmycharity.com/blackhousegrill
