Millbeck Farm nestles beneath the famous Langdale Pikes in the Great Langdale valley.
The hill farm is set over 250 acres, and is owned by the National Trust with the day to day running handled by local farmers Eric and Sue Taylforth.
Their rural Lakeland location is a real asset to the Taylforths as their able to achieve a unique taste profile for their Galloways. How is this so...? They are allowed to roam freely and
feed on the Lakeland heather and grasses that grow in abundance on the nearby hillsides. This non selective grazing style of the Galloways actively encourages the growth of more succulent pastures which are ideal for providing feed for the other livestock on the farm.
A certain symbiosis you might say!
These bovines take between 23 to 30 months to mature, meaning when it’s prime time this beef is in great demand. But fear not, this month 100% natural and flavoursome beef is all yours for you to enjoy.
