The Botanist is coming to No.15
A historic village with a rich heritage, Alderley Edge has witnessed many changes over the years. With an abundance of bars and restaurants this is a place that has truly moved with the times and catered for all tastes – well just about. One thing perhaps conspicuous by its absence is a proper village pub.
Due to open May/June 2012 The New World Pub Company's decision to situate their second Pub "The Botanist", following the phenomenal success of Manchester's Oast House, on the same site as the fabled Number 15 Wine Bar, has been very carefully considered and its hoped it will become as much an institution as its illustrious predecessor. Following the huge success of The Oast House in Spinningfields - a traditional looking, largely reclaimed, building - this new take on the old will have the same ethos and values as its city centre counterpart. Tim Bacon, Managing Director of Living Ventures says: "The Oast House in Manchester has established a very strong following in a short space of time so I'm confident we will achieve the same with The Botanist and bring No 15 back to life. "
In addition to a well-stocked cellar of cask-conditioned ales, you'll find around 50 bottled beers and ciders from around the world and a selection of the finest Champagnes, wines and spirits. With a deli-style smokehouse menu with rotisserie and external barbecue there will be ample room for hearty, al-fresco dining (whatever the weather) in the unique No 15 walled garden ensuring that The Botanist will be a perfect place for a cross section of the `inn-crowd"!
