Living Ventures to bring Gusto to Manchester

Living Ventures to bring Gusto to Manchester

By M&C Report

Living Ventures (LV) is to open its first restaurant under its Gusto Italian format in its hometown of Manchester this summer.

The Tim Bacon-led group, which is in advanced talks to secure new funding for the rollout of the brand, is transforming the Olive Press - the former Paul Heathcote restaurant that LV bought out of receivership nearly four years ago - into a Gusto in a £2m project.

The 3,500sq ft restaurant on Lloyd Street will be expanded into the next door vacant premises - formerly used as a temporary library for Manchester - to create an 8,500sq ft Gusto with a Deansgate frontage.

Bacon told M&C Report it "will be a completely different animal" to the existing restaurant.

He said "it will be good to take a proper Gusto into Manchester because it's our hometown and it's the only one of our brands that we haven't got in Manchester."

"it's wrong and remiss of us not to have done it earlier."

Work on site is expected to start in two months' time, with a projected opening date of early August.
