MEN Business Of The Year Awards
Turkish Airlines Judges Choice Awards - Living Ventures
Living Ventures founders Tim Bacon and Jeremy Roberts said the pubs to fine dining business will top £100m turnover in the current financial year.
The pair, who started the company two decades ago, told the M.E.N. about the landmark and more after winning the Judges' Choice Award.
It also comes as Living Ventures announced a restructuring of the Group's senior management team.
Tim, who has overseen the growth of the business since its inception in 1999, has moved to Executive Chairman of the Group, with Jeremy Roberts, formerly Commercial Director, stepping in to the Group chief executive role.
Paul Moran remains as Managing Director of the Living Ventures Group brands.
Shortly after landing the Judges' Choice Award Tim said: "We didn't expect to win this - it's fantastic. We were bitterly disappointed not to win in our category, but you just seemed to be teasing us.
"Manchester Evening News is a fantastic business and establishment in Manchester and to be awarded in this way is marvellous.
"We will turnover more than £100m this year. We are employing more than 2,500 people - it's phenomenal when you think about it."
On the restructure and plans for the business - which owns Manchester House, Australasia, Artisan, The Alchemist, Gusto and other popular city centre restaurants - going forward, he added: We have split two roles into three at senior level because we just found that we wanted to create more time.
"Time is the biggest thing you are searching for when you are running a business. It gives you time to think and develop stuff."
Other well-known restaurants in the Living Ventures group include The Grill on the Alley, The Grill on New York Street, Oast House, all in Manchester, and The Botanist, in Alderley Edge.
The group also announced a deal this summer to open some of their signature brands in Liverpool.
It is only the second time the Judges' Choice Award has been handed out, with Lancashire County Cricket Club landing the gong in 2014,.
After accepting the award on stage Jeremy Roberts said: "It's a really nice accolade. We've had two big deals this year and there will be more in the future because that's the nature of the business now.
"We very much run it as a family company with values, without it actually being a ‘proper family company'. We are incredibly proud of what we do."
Selim Ecirli, general manager for Manchester at Turkish Airlines said: "We are incredibly proud to have sponsored this year's MEN Business of the Year Awards.
"Manchester is one of the most important hubs for us as an airline and serves more than 22million passengers a year. We have achieved great success in the area this year, making us one of the fastest growing airlines in Europe.
"We currently fly to 111 countries - more than any other airline. The quality of the 2015 business entrants has surpassed all expectations and we look forward to supporting the achievements of local businesses in the Greater Manchester area for many years to come.
"This partnership is an important one as it rewards local businesses that share in our vision of growing the region".
Living Ventures is the proud operator of some of the most exciting brands in the UK restaurant and bar market.
